Hello all,
I guess they know that bad weather is coming again. I spotted at least 15 siskins on the sunflower hearts today. I know there were more in the Silver Maple above the feeder. They arrived with a small flock of goldfinches, a small flock of Eastern Bluebirds, 2 male House finches and a lone female Brown-headed Cowbird. Seeing how there's a new wave of siskins in town, hopefully redpolls will become a little more common (a guy can hope right?)!
BTW, I haven't seen more than 4 or so siskins since a day or two after Hurricane Sandy.
Good birding,
