We were out walking the dogs in Paint Branch Park (Mont. Co.) about 4 PM yesterday and on the way back to the car, I distinctly heard Tundra Swans flying over but as we were at the time in a very wooded area with tall trees, could see nothing! That would probably have been about 4:25-4:30 PM.

We saw no swans in lower Frederick Co yesterday although in some years we get them at Lilypons or along Rt. 85 for the Sugarloaf CBC (which is this coming Sunday this season.)

My daughter and I went out for a late afternoon walk on the C&O Canal towpath at Carderock in Montgomery County. About 4:25, we had a V of at least 80 Tundra Swans fly over fairly high heading south. Just a few minutes ago I was out filling our bird feeders in the dark and heard more Tundra Swans headed south. Im wondering if this movement relates to the recent cold and snowy weather coming to states north of Maryland. Checking eBird, I found Tundra Swans being reported in this part of Maryland so far in December only in very small groups.
