Buyer beware? Don't know latin but think the lesson would be better phrased something like caveat avis vigil!
Anyway, I usually don't get too excited about unconfirmed ebird reports of rare birds unless they are from a birder I know or the comments provided suggest it wasn't an accident or beginner's error, and also indicate the reporter realizes the bird is rare. The comments here did suggest it wasn't entered accidentally and the birder did realize it was a rarity.
