Subject: [MDBirding] Tufted Duck Sunday - No, Comon Goldeneyes - Yes

Made several attempts today for the duck at the Holiday Inn at the Kent Narrows on Kent Island, the sea wall and the Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center between 1:30 - 4:00 without luck. Winds were gusting pretty hard and we could find some shelter next to the hotel.

Seen at the hotel
Gadwalls
Mallards
Scaup
Buffleheads
Ruddy
Canada Geese
Blue-winged teal fly-over
Kingfisher was present late in the afternoon
Short appearance by a Harrier
Great Blue Heron
White Throated sparrow
Something else was giving chip notes in the grass but I didn't know it.

Seawall on the south side of the Narrows
Mostly Scaup but Coots were around the pilings in the marina as were Mallard and Buffleheads

Chesapeake Environmental Center
Scaup
Buffleheads
Coots
3 male Common Goldeneye and 1 female at close range
might have had a few Ring-necked ducks across the water close to Red-Eyes bar, but the wind was causing my scope to move too much to get a good look.

I might try again tomorrow.
Good birding!
