Hi All - well it's hard to believe but another year of birding is almost in the books! Which means it's time to start tallying up your lists and submit them for the 2012 MD/DC Annual List Report!! I hope all will participate this year; last year we had a record number of birders participate and I'm hoping that with this list serve now up and reaching many more birders than the previous one did, we will get many more to join the fun.
The Annual List Report Form is in Excel format this year, which should cure the problems that a few had filling out the form when it was in Adobe format last year. I've attached both submission forms to this email:
1) the Annual List Report Form for 2012
2) the Big Day Report Form for 2012
You can easily enter your list totals into these spreadsheets and email them back to me per the instructions on the forms.
I HIGHLY recommend that the eBirders out there use Mike Ostrowski's fabulous Excel Macro that will slice and dice all of your Maryland eBird data into neat little totals for almost every reporting category that appears on this form. It only takes a couple clicks of the mouse! The Macro can be accessed here:

Just select the third file from the top and be sure to read the readme file below it for instructions on how to use the macro. You can also find the 2011 Report at this location if you want to get a taste for what the 2012 Report will look like.
I'm hoping to get some Big Day submissions this year as I will begin to include that data in the Annual Report starting this year.
FYI, you still have today to add species to your lists! Don't give up yet -I added a Red Crossbill to my yard list only yesterday!
