Hi Everyone,
There was a nice collection of shorebirds near the end of Rumbly Point Rd in Somerset County this afternoon (31 Dec 2012):
Greater Yellowlegs--52 Lesser Yellowlegs--1 Least Sandpiper--12 Dunlin--120 Long-billed Dowitcher--11
Also at Rumbly Point were 4 Forster's Terns and 40 Boat-tailed Grackles.
Just before dusk, at the end of Riley Roberts Rd in the Deal Island WMA, a Tricolored Heron flew by. Slightly later, as it was getting dark, 3 Black-crowned Night Herons flew over. Clapper Rails called, and a Short-eared Owl hunted the marsh.
Happy New Year! Have fun,
Ron Gutberlet Salisbury, MD <rlgutberlet...>
