Hi all --

The answer to the question above is: for some, but not for us :-(

We met Marcia Balestri on the wildlife loop road towards Lake Allen (maybe about 11 AM) and she and Leslie and Joe Starr had seen WWCR in the pines earlier across from the airport, but the birds had flown off. Despite a lot of searching, we could not relocate them. As Dan noted, the road from the loop to Lake Allen was closed. Consolation prizes were a lot of RB Nuthatches and two Hermit Thrushes. We looked at the feeders for a bit and did not see a BC Chickadee either.

Oh well, another try another time. The North Tract is closed tomorrow and Saturday for hunting.

Quick check offered up no Crossbills, of either variety. That said, the road where they've regularly been seen was closed to all but those hunting something...
