Subject: [MDBirding] Orange-crowned Warbler near Elkton

I had a spectacular look at an Orange-crowned Warbler this evening near Elkton just off of Maloney Road. https://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&t=p&z=13&q=39.5983819,-75.7949467&ll=39.5983819,-75.7949467

It flew down into a small choke cherry and started a loud chip note. Unlike Yellow-rumped Warblers "check" call note this was a loud sweet "chip". The bird was a warbler sized bird (Yellow-rumped Warbler in size) with a longish tail. It had a very defined gray hood, a white eye ring, a light olive green over its whole body accept for bright yellow vent area underneath the tail. There were no wing bars present on the bird. It flew across the road in front of me and worked its way back toward a stand of Bamboo. I believe it will be camping out in there for the night.

It is private property owned by a church, but they haven't ever built on it and its not posted. So enter at your own risk. It is one of my spots I look for early Catbird, Thrasher, and usually holds loads of Sparrows.
