I had 10 Red Crossbills foraging in VA pines around 11:00 this morning. They were on thesale road tountil Lake Allenin about 100 yards past where the road turns to dirt. There is a trail off to the right just before the pines they were foraging in. I had my phone recording when they flew over, so I will see if I got any flight calls for analysis.
Someone else reported White-winged Crossbills earlier in the morning from closer to the airport.
