FYI - birders in our neighboring state to the north are reporting huge numbers of redpolls, with flocks all of a sudden markedly larger than the past month or so. In the last day or two, there has been a flock of 100 reported in State College, 75 in Wayne County, and a massive flock of up to 300 birds in McKean County, with 3 possible Hoary Redpolls in that flock. Hopefully the increase bodes well for Maryland!
