Subject: [MDBirding] Nashville Warbler in Salisbury

Hi Everyone,

Yesterday (Sunday, 6 Jan 2013) Ellen Lawler found a Nashville Warbler in
Salisbury (Wicomico Co). Sorry I wasn't able to post this sooner; Ellen is
not on MDBirding but did pass the news through email to a few folks.
Unfortunately, I am away from Salisbury for a couple days (bad timing!),
but Matt Hafner reports that the bird was still present earlier today.
Mike Walsh had the bird this afternoon "at the end of Wicomico St off
Riverside Dr in bushes facing the river."

Here is the information from Ellen:

"I had a Nashville warbler along the [Wicomico] River in Salisbury this
afternoon (Sunday). It was in some overgrown vines behind the Riverside
Medical Center (across Riverside Dr from St. Francis Church). If you go to
the parking lot behind the medical center (the section towards the river)
there's kind of a ravine on the right as you look at the river (just to
the right of a large for sale sign by Sperry Van Ness) that has a few trees
and lots of vines. The warbler was there (with song & white throated
sparrows, GC kinglets) when I pished at 1:30. I didn't have my binocs but
did get a couple photos and so returned with my binocs at 2:30. He was
still there. I think the western subspecies as he was wagging his tail
quite a bit."

As a p.s., the Black-headed Gull continued at the Hunt Valley Mall in
Baltimore Co as late as 4:25 this afternoon.

Have fun,
