Hi Everyone,
An eBird report was submitted this evening for the TUFTED DUCK on Kent Island in Queen Anne's Co. (report from 1/5). Until this report, it had not, to my knowledge, been successfully relocated in 2013. The observer said it was near the dock at Mears Point Marina, just west of the Holiday Inn Express. With the reported disturbance near the Holiday Inn Express, a slight relocation isn't surprising. Like others, I was kind of surprised that this bird had departed so abruptly. I know nothing about access to this site. It seems like one could check from public roads surrounding it, but please be careful and polite. See Google Maps to find Mears Point Marina, which is just west of the Holiday Inn Express on Kent Island.
