The ducks reported by Jim Green are still on hand for close observation at the watered impoundment. This morning in addition to the many Mallards, there were at least a dozen Northern Shovelers, a hen Pintail and a hen Wood Duck. The Great Egret continues to forage blissfully in the canal. I checked the dozens of White- throated Sparrows and several Song Sparrows on the sunny side of the canal to find two Swamp Sparrows and a lone Field Sparrow.
