1/13/13 Cackling Goose - 1 - Blackwater NWR, mixed in with a Canada Goose flock in front of the Visitor Center. Ross's Goose - 1 - Blackwater NWR, mixed in with a Snow Goose flock at the end of the wildlife loop, next to the future Harriet Tubman Museum site. Blue-winged Teal - 2 - Bestpitch Marsh flats, a pair. Common Merganser - 150 (estimated) - Blackwater NWR, observed from the new viewing platform. American White Pelican - 24 - Blackwater NWR. Greater Yellowlegs - 3 - LeCompte WMA. Lesser Yellowlegs - 1 - LeCompte WMA. Dunlin - 48 - Bestpitch Marsh flats, probably more than my count. Birds were constantly flying in and out of the flats.
