Subject: [MDBirding] Montgomery Bird Club meeting this Wednesday

This Wednesday, January 16th, Bob Mumford will present a program on the South Georgia Island. South Georgia is about a thousand miles off the coast of Argentina and is most famous for being the end point of Sir Ernest Shackleton's miraculous 800-mile escape from Antarctica. But it is also known for spectacular mountain scenery and tens of thousands of penguins, elephant and fur seals, albatrosses and reindeer. Bob will screen images of many sea birds photographed during the transits to and from SGI, as well as the wildlife on the island itself. He will include some dramatic scenics as well.

Meeting is held at the Potomac Presbyterian Church located at 10301 River Road in Potomac. Doors open at 7:00, refreshments at 7:30 and meeting starts at 8:00.
All are welcome.
