Gave great looks and seemed very unwary of humans.

Later, around 2:45 I saw another flock of 16 White-winged Crossbills, mostly males. They flew through the Grove of State Trees heading west, stopping briefly in some of the pines.

Other birds of note:
Hermit Thrush 1
Ruby-crowned Kinglet 1
Red-breasted Nuthatch 6 - 4 in Grove of State Trees, 2 in Asia Gardens and Conifer Collections
Eastern Towhee 1 male
Bald Eagle 1 adult
