With some snow on the ground I went looking for grassland birds this morning. However there was not enough snow to produce any flocks of Horned Larks coming to the roadside. This excursion took me into the area where the Say's Phoebe was seen. I spent about ten minutes looking for it without success. Other birds:
Kestrel - 1 on Roop Road, 2 on Feeser Road, and 1 on Jasontown Road.
Raven - 11 on Bullfrog Road in the owl field, and not a football in sight. I have only seen singles in the county in the past.
Horned Lark - a flock of about 30 flew over Jasontown Road but landed out of sight.
Pipit - a flock of 7 on Sharrett Road west of the railroad.
