Subject: [MDBirding] Carroll County-More Say's Phoebe info and L. Longspurs

Below is an eBird list for my time today in the area that the Say's Phoebe
has been frequenting, with links to photos. I stayied until about 2:15 pm,
and at that point the bird had not been seen again. I was around the farm
buildlings beginning at 8 am (with two Lapland Longspurs in the snow
covered field across the road with 60 larks). I saw the phoebe briefly
(for about 7 minutes, as described below). Good luck. The bird appeared
fine and active.

Say's Phoebe 1 Continuing. First found 01/19 by R. Ringler; seen on
the 20th and 21st, but not reported since. Arrived at location around 8
am, and bird not observed until around 1005. First see flycatching insect
from S side of large red barn. Perched near barn very briefly, then flew
towards house with red shutters. Watched perched on roof for 3-4 minutes,
during which time I was joined by Patty Crain and Matt Anthony who were up
the road and I called. Then flew far to the W, to tree in yard of brick
house on F&S Rd. Apparently continued W, and not see again during my stay.
Size and behavior similar to Eastern Phoebe, but brownish head and back,
blackish tail. Upper breast tan, becoming a rich cinnamon buff on middle
breast and lower breast. Did not call. Photos.
