Subject: [MDBirding] WWDO - not

After I finished with my field trip to Jefferson Patterson Park & Museum, I headed to Annmarie Gardens in Solomons. Kevin Smith was there just one car ahead of me. Eventually we were joined by Lisa and Warren Strobel. 8 eyes apparently were not enough. We all failed to find even a Mourning Dove. We did, however, have Brown-headed Nuthatches there! I was unaware that they were in that location. Perfect habitat so why not. Anyway, I was there from noon to 2 without luck.

I ran into a woman who asked if I was looking for "the bird". I said yes and she said that she had seen a bird with white wing patches at the intersection of Newtown and Lore Pines Roads (can't remember the name of the development, something Landing). It had been on a roof. I tried this location as well without success.

Matt Anthony and Patty Craig are probably back at Annmarie Gardens as I write so hopefully they'll be more successful than we were.
