I agree with Jeff. I was sitting around this afternoon contemplating going to King's Landing, but not that motivated to do so. However, if I had known about the Northern Lapwing, I definitely would have made the 50 minute trek to Cordova.

This is not a call for heads on a platter. Just a simple request not to forget about the Google Group when posting rarities, as it has by far the largest audience (near 700).

Thank you, and likewise, congratulations and thanks to Les for finding such a MEGA.

Congrats on an awesome find!! But like the first two respondents, I am bummed it was not posted here until it was too late for anyone to try. I had all afternoon off and was birding all afternoon. I could easily have made it there, but stayed around home (PG County) looking for crossbills, since nothing was reported today that warranted a chase. I have to work tomorrow and every day this week, and won't be able to look for this bird until possibly Wednesday but more likely Saturday. Hope it sticks around til then!

Regarding the MD birding facebook page, I rarely use facebook and didn't know about MD birding's page until now. I just looked, and see it has over 240 members, so if course I promptly made a request to join!

Great find, congrats again to those who got to see it. But PLEASE post any updates tomorrow or whenever on here (Google Group)!

Thank you-
