Greetings,
Please add my name to the list of those grateful to Dennis for his hospitality. Apparently I was one of only three people (including Dennis) to have seen the bird today. I arrived around 7:35am, giving myself plenty of time since travel conditions were so bad this morning. Fortunately the worst of the closures and back-ups were not on my route (sorry Jim). Since the bird was showing up at 9:00 on previous days, I just waited and watched the other birds coming in. Jim Stasz showed up around 8:15, so it was nice to catch up with him. So we waited and watched, and waited and watched, but 9:00 came and went, and no bird. I figured that I could wait until 10:00 or 10:30 at the absolute latest before I had to head back to DC for work. By 10:00 it still hadn't shown up. At 10:15 I finally decided to throw in the towel - we figured that if it hadn't shown up by then, then it's probably gone. I said my goodbyes to Jim & Dennis, got in my car and was actually backing out when Dennis came running up the driveway waving his arms. "It's here, it's here!" So I ran back in and was able to enjoy it for about 3 minutes before it flew off again. Talk about cutting it close!
Apologies for not posting sooner, I went from car to meetings to car all day and this is my first chance to compose a message.
