Hi Bonnie. After a weeks absence, my adult White-crowned Sparrow is back and feeding right beside our side porch, under a tall pair of late-flowering boneset (not flowering now of course) that Pete Osenton gave me. I throw out large amounts of mixed seeds onto the ground and under the bushes for the ground feeders, and this bird has been here since December. Large numbers of juncos, a few White-throats and Song sparrows, and when the grass is clear of snow, a flock of about 2 dozen Chipping Sparrows as well.
