Subject: [MDBirding] Red-breasted Mergansers @ North East Community Park (Cecil Co.)

Hi all,
I was running errands in North East this afternoon and decided to stop off at North East Comm Park to see if I could spot the Iceland Gull from a week or so ago. No luck with gulls, but there were 3 Snow Geese (1 hanging out with the Domestic Greylags and 2 north of the gazebo, near the building with the blue roof). While walking along the creek (or branch of the NE River, I'm not sure exactly which) to the north of the park, I spotted 4 Red-breasted Mergs! There were 3 males and a female. I figured these were very good birds seeing how they prefer salt water environments. They were not too concerned with my presence. I'm wondering if maybe these birds have been here awhile. I'll be posting pictures shortly.

Good birding,
