Subject: [MDBirding] Leonardtown WWCR - NO

Patty Craig and I went to Leonardtown Wharf today to follow up on reports of WWCR from the weekend. We did not find any. Highlights included at least two FORSTER's TERNS, two RED-BREASTED NUTHATCHES and one WHITE-BREASTED NUTHATCH.

From here, we scanned the ponds at Beauvue. Nothing spectacular here, but there were surprisingly high numbers of AMERICAN WIGEON. Wigeon were present on every pond in the complex, and clearly outnumbered all other species. We did not get an exact count, but a conservative estimate would be around 75 individuals. Also present was a lone male REDHEAD.
