Paul,
The bluebirds around here were checking out nest boxes last month when the weather would warm up. Males sitting on top, wing-waving, etc. So they've been around and courting already, at least here in lower Carroll County. I even had a chickadee checking out my screech owl box (man, I don't know what he was thinking, but maybe he was trying to McMansion his nest box!).
