We were in the parking lot at that moment, as we had been refused a pass for entry! Felt like a kid with my nose pressed to the glass of a candy store as all the smiling birders left just before 4 p.m. <sigh>.
Note to self (and others!): North Tract closes at 4:00 p.m. At this time, they do not issue passes to go on the ground after 3 p.m.
