Hi all,
I stepped outside at about noon for some fresh air, and watched as pairs of Red-tailled Hawks were courting in the skies above my yard. One pair circled then went into a leg-dangling dive, before they finally leveled off and landed in a large tree adjacent to my neighbors yard. Another pair circled above them and rose higher until they became just specks. Another single bird circled, supposedly looking for love, but finding none.
A Red-shouldered Hawk flew right over my head (and shop) just as I stepped out the door, and continued into the woods. A Cooper's Hawk flew high overhead, towards the west before I lost sight of it too.
Spring fever is in the air!
