Tom,

When I was at Kings Landing - in late January I believe - I dipped on the Redpolls, then walked to the water. I thought I heard crossbills in the trees on my left on the trail to the dock, high in the crowns and quite near the water. I heard the sound and it was gone before I could be sure. Since I haven't heard a lot of crossbills, I can't say if they were or were not there... just "possible".

I did not crossbills on ebird. I may have put a note in the comments, or potentially posted on this list or Facebook, hoping someone would be on the lookout and/or confirm "possible" crossbills.

It would surprise me a lot, though, for voice of the Naturalist to report both crossbills in the last week from anything I may have said about "possible" crossbills in my earlier encounter. Please let this list know if there was a reliable report, though - it would make my earlier "maybe" much more interesting!

I saw a report on the Voice of the Naturalist of both crossbills at King's Landing Park in Huntingtown. I'd not seen any of these reports on this list previously and no one has reported them to date on Ebird. I wondered whether this was an error or if they were reported on other lists (or maybe the Facebook page?) If anyone has details on these reports I would appreciate hearing about them.

BTW-Redpolls were present today in the morning and afternoon.

Thanks!
