MD Birding:
FYI, as I recall, the 1994 report of the possible hybrid at Lilypons was about one week after one of the Trumpling Swans disappeared from one of the Columbia, MD lakes.
Perhaps someone from Howard County can provide more details, but some number of Trumplings were released on the Columbia, MD lakes, with the cooperation and permission of the Columbia Association, by Dr. Bill Sladen, back in the 1990s. (Or, maybe this is covered in some of the links that Matt Hafner provided, but I haven't had a chance to go to them, yet.)
