I just had a lovely male Purple Finch among a group of 20+ juncos eating seed on the ground below the bird feeder. What I haven't noticed in about a week are the Red-breasted Nuthatches. But I am also getting in flocks of blackbirds, a sure sign of spring. Yesterday I had about 60 of them, 1/3 grackles, 1/3 male redwings, 1/3 female redwings.
Wodpeckers continue at the suet, including a pair each of Downy, Hairy, Red-breasted and Pileated, with a Brown Creeper sneaking in when it can.
