The goose movement over Hain's point this morning was astounding- at least 22,900 Canada geese and 57 Tundra swans between 7.30 and 9.20 am, in an almost constant stream, mostly heading east of the Anacostia/Potomac junction. Lots of Grackles and Ring-billed gulls, and at least 4 Great blue herons apparently also moving. No identifiable snow geese unfortunately, although there my have been some amongst the distant sihouetted skeins. .
