While we were waiting [in the SW field at the corner of Sycamore Landing and River Roads, Montgomery Co] for woodcocks Sunday at dusk, two SANDHILL CRANES flew steadily NW across the pink sky. A little while later the WOODCOCKS appeared, too--two or three in the SE field. Meantime, two or three BARRED OWLS were conversing.
