After looking at some of the images that result from a Google search, I've concluded that "the" seagull is in fact several different birds, at least two of them possibly Yellow-legged Gulls, an immature and an adult. I'm not very familiar with this species, but they do occur in Southern Europe.
Anyone else come to the conclusion that there are multiple birds involved?
