Rick,
You have an extraordinary situation. Outside of your yard Chipping
Sparrows are rare in Carroll County in winter. We do not always get them on
the Winter Count but sometimes one or two. This year I had one at my feeder
one day and that was a first. We have not seen spring migrants before the
Ides of March so they should start showing up any day now.
