Subject: [MDBirding] Oxbow Lake: Wilson's Snipe (45)

Jay Sheppard braved the wind and the cold to count snipe at Oxbow Lake (2:15-2:45 pm) today. Standing on the east side at the site of the future platform and looking at the peninsula directly to the west, he counted 45 snipe all in the general area of the mouth of the outlet channel.

If you are snipe-deprived or want to practice finding them, Oxbow Lake is the place to be.

Monday's report:
On Monday at the Little Patuxent Oxbow Lake Nature Preserve, Jay Sheppard counted 44 Snipe, all were located on the mud in the water around the east edge of the peninsula jutting out from the north side of the lake.

From the main entrance on Oxbow Place, take the primitive trail to the left and follow it around to the SE Observation Point - directly across from Gallinule Point (the end of the peninsula), and start scanning!
