The windows are tightly closed, there's plenty of traffic noise, and
I've been concentrating on a cryptic crossword puzzle, but just now I
became aware of a faint sound coming from outside -- the monotone call
of an Eastern Screech-Owl.
"Birder brain" strikes again! You folks know what I mean: You may be in
the middle of a business meeting, a romantic interlude, or even a
funeral, but nevertheless you're still alert for birds in the vicinity.
Sure, sometimes this leads to embarrassing moments, but it's worth it,
don't you agree? ;>)
