Certainly seemed to be every bit of early Spring around upper Beach Dr. in Rock Creek Park today.
This Carolina Wren was building a very cool nest, sandwiched between a Poison Ivy vine and the trunk of a large Tulip Poplar(http://www.flickr.com/photos/chris_tonra/8565288395/in/photostream)
Also noticed the Red-shouldered Hawk nest along the creek seemed to be built up again, but no pair present, their was a pair of Wood Ducks circling around in the trees, near where they nested in a natural cavity way up in a Sweet Gum last year. Even had a Grey Squirrel bringing material to a cavity.
The other highlight was 5 Fox Sparrows near Boundary Bridge, one of which was singing.
