We did not see the variety that Dave Roberts saw yesterday morning, but we were delighted to see the Common Merganser with her 12 chicks. Thanks to Woody and Rae, who spotted them and graciously gave us time on their scope. We all saw up to 3 chicks riding on her back. They were located along the shoreline just before the bridge at Riley's lock. They were headed upstream. The Horned Grebes were in the same area. What a treat!
