Patty Craig and I spent some time this afternoon attempting to relocate Mikey's potential COMMON SNIPE on Camp Brown Rd in St. Mary's County with no luck. There were about a dozen snipe in the field, but there did not appear to be any good candidates for the bird. Viewing conditions were not particularly good, and eventually the snipe flew across the road and we were unable to see where they set down. There were four GREATER YELLOWLEGS and a pair of GREEN-WINGED TEAL in a different wet field further down the road. I also was unsuccessful in relocating the two VESPER SPARROWS which Mark Hoffman had reported from Long Neck Rd. earlier in the day.
