John L, Paul N and I went to great white north across northern
baltimore county in search for larks and pipits. A lot of Horned Larks at
Ruhl Road W & E, Peterson Rd, Oakland Rd and Ensor Rd; 6 meadowlarks on
peterson road; 8 pipits, harrier & killdeer on ensor road; kestel flyover
at oakland rd X new freedom rd; bald eagle flyover at beetree run at
oakland road, also at same area were lots of sparrows, bluebirds at newly
created forest buffer over a wet grass area. Made stop at jeanne's
feeders with 22 species. then down to jones falls for yellow-crowned night
herons and saw 4 birds. At same area were a flyover kestrel and cooper's
hawk. Lunch at John's for a bit. later went to my old hawkwatch site
(1992-2001) near my old yard (1977-2001) and in one hour, 1 black vulture,
6 turkey vulture, 1 osprey, 2 sharpies, 2 redtails.
