Also note that the pipits (and Horned Larks if you are so lucky) are
usually first heard flying overhead. If there's not a lot of action in the
fields (eg, no dog walkers or soccer players or golfers or fisherman
practicing their casting or police exercising their K-9 unit) then they may
land.

I want to say that the entrance to Kenilworth Park is at the western end of
Nellie Custis Rd. (but need to confirm). There's a small roundabout, and
one of the spokes is the park (the one with the white gate that's almost
always open).

Look for the 1 or 2 meadowlarks that have also been in the fields.
