First of season common loons seen this morning (migration flight, from yard). I've looked several times the last couple weeks, but weather patterns have not been good. Today's favorable weather should make it a good day from the hawk watch (Ft Smallwood) for seeing loons, not to mention raptors!
All the birds I saw were in breeding plumage or close to it. Nice!
