Visitors:
Nancy Jane McMillan

Weather:
Partly cloudy became cloudy with the approach of a cold front; 51-62 degrees; good to excellent visibility; winds started out southwesterly 7-10 mph, then became ferocious from the W or WNW 17-25 mph, gusting to 36 mph

Raptor Observations:
A so-so day became spectacular during the hour and a half in the mid-afternoon when the cold front blew through. Dark clouds took over the sky and showers were in the area, but during that time there were 5 Northern Harriers and about 40 American Kestrels, along with a Merlin, Ospreys, Sharp-shinned Hawks and Cooper's Hawks.

Non-raptor Observations:
Tree Swallows were abundant with an estimated 5,000 pouring by, not stopping as the front passed by, during which we also had first spring arrivals of Barn Swallow(3), Chimney Swift(1), and Purple Martin(2). Spring Peepers were calling loudly, and prior to the front, flies were migrating by. Also, a Greater Yellowlegs and 3 Snowy Egrets, new arrivals.
