I had a little time this morning to go out to Violette's Lock and Riley's Lock. There was not much bird activity at the former. At Riley's bridge and just a few hundred feet upstream there were:
Pied-billed Grebe 2
Common Loon ( definitely 3 but possibly as any as 5)
American Coot 5
In the impoundment/pool
Blue-winged Teal 3 ( 2 drakes, 1 hen) Thank you to the kind birder who noticed them first.
No birding in excess. : > ( , as tomorrow it is back to academia.
