Today was the last day of the season for the FeederWatch project (http://www.birds.cornell.edu/pfw/). It was a pretty good year for our West Laurel yard, with a record species tally (41; we started keeping records in 2006), including our first record of GRAY CATBIRD. Here's the summary breakdown for those interested! Shown are all the species ever seen on our count, then the highest number of individuals seen at one time for this season, the percentage of the counts the species was seen this season, and the running average percentage since 2006 for comparison. (Keep in mind "seen" means the bird was attracted to the yard, according to the FeederWatch protocol -- it doesn't include distant or flyover birds.)
Number of Counts for 2012-2013 = 16 (counts are over 2 days) Number of Species for 2012-2013 = 41
