It was really something to be surrounded by yellow Palm Warblers, Pine Warblers, and Yellow Rumps--many of them lingering in the same area for 90 minutes (8:15-9:45) and probably longer, may still be there. At least 15 Palms, 5 Pines, and 12 Yellow Rumps. And all 3 were singing off and on. They seemed tired and hungry, hanging around--and quite tame. Very close. There may have been more Pines, but they are less easy to count compared to the tail-wagging Palms. I've noticed over the years that Pine Warblers and Palm Warblers sometimes tend to flock together in large numbers, with Palms outnumbering Pines.

Along with the 3 warblers, other nice birds in the same area: phoebes, golden-crowned kinglets, kingfishers, sparrows, etc. Oh, much hoping for a 4th warbler (Lou Waterthrush) but no luck. And good birding time with Ruth Bergstrom.
