Subject: [MDBirding] Birding on cruise ships
It's interesting to hear that parks on cruise ships are attracting birds. I have birded on cruise ships for years, just recently returned from cruising from Cape Horn, South America to the Falklands, South Georgia and ending in Cape Town, South Africa. I have not gone on the very huge cruise ships so no onboard parks but with the stable open air decks of Silversea Explorer I was able to see over 8 species of albatross (many close up) 10 petrels species plus numerous storm-petrels, prions in addition to penguins, seals, porpoises and whales all while living in luxury and stability in rough seas. Great extended pelagic!
