Hi -

We went there with Jack Jeffrey, who before he retired was the senior biologist at Hakalau NWR. He leads birding tours, his web site is: www.jackjeffreyphoto.com

There are other options, one well-recommended by many is Hawaii Forest & Trail, Bob Pacheco -- www.hawaii-forest.com

Subject: [MDBirding] RFI - Birding Hakalau Forest on Hawaii
Hi all,
I'm looking into birding at the Hakalau Forest on the big island and wanted to see if anyone has any recommendations/advice for a local birding tour. It seems that access to the park is fairly restricted, so going with a local tour seems like the best choice to me, at least initially.

Thanks in advance,
