Subject: [MDBirding] Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens this AM
A really good morning at near high tide (7:15 to about 8:30) at Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens. There were 3 Caspian Terns flying over the pond. The flock of Rusty Blackbirds (about 10) was in the small wooded swamp at the beginning of the River trail. A couple of Purple Finches were high in the trees less than 100 yards past the Blackbirds (there are house finches in the area also). A Marsh Wren sang briefly from the cattail marsh a little further along the trail. Also present were a singing Ruby-crowned Kinglet, a Pileated Woodpecker, a few Palm Warblers, a Great Egret, a Cooper's Hawk and a Red-shouldered Hawk. No waterfowl except Mallards and Canada Geese despite the nicely flooded impoundments.
