I just posted 6 photos of a bird I saw on Riley Roberts Rd. yesterday that has me stumped. It has roughly the profile of a Seaside Sparrow, but is marked more like a Song Sparrow. When I first noticed the bird, it was walking and bobbing along face down, one foot in front of the other like a Lapland Lonspur or Horned Lark, picking at the ground. It has a very long bill and flattish head, longer tail than you would expect with an ammodramus sp. and the tail is reddish and narrow with no white edges, strong white supercilium and throat, distinct kind of speckled streaking of the breast, dark spot in the middle of the breast, no trace of gray in the breast, and no trace of a yellow supraloral. What am I missing? Here's a link to the photos: http://www.flickr.com/photos/27381338@N03/8640054805/in/photostream/
